What Eve says…

I entered Entrepreneur of the Year 2012 with the help of the Awards Writers team.

When I got a call to say I had been shortlisted, it immediately made me realise that running my business was worth all the juggling.

For the first three years, I ran Baba+Boo from home, while also looking after my two small children. It was sometimes a near-impossible task, but this experience has made it worthwhile.

I was named runner-up in the awards and, from that moment on, my confidence in myself and the business has soared. On the night of the awards, I was able to speak to the CEO of prestigious blue chip UK company. He then gave me some of his time to look at my business and mentored me. That kind of advice is immeasurable and the contacts I have made on the back of that have been brilliant.

Awards have been intrinsic to the development of my business, but also to me as a business owner. Entering awards is not something to be overlooked. It’s not just about the prize, it’s about what comes off the back of it. When it comes to awards I say, do it. And if you can get help from an expert team like Awards Writers, definitely go for it.
