Yorkshire Water

When Yorkshire Water decided to enter the Utility Week Awards 2021, they turned to Awards Writers for advice. The utility company’s waste water team had made some industry-leading changes and wanted to highlight their work, while getting a bit of glory for the team behind the achievements.

Picking apart the projects we settled on writing three award entries which would make the most of the team’s achievements. All three made it on to the utility industry’s most prestigious shortlist, to the delight of the team.

Head of Wastewater Asset Management James Harrison said: “It was great to get the advice on which categories to focus on. We had a number of projects we were keen to showcase, but Awards Writers helped us arrive at the best way to pitch all of our achievements to give us the strongest chance of making it to the finals. They weren’t wrong.

“Working with a range of our people, Awards Writers pulled together clear and compelling entries and pushed us on the kinds of data we needed to provide as evidence for our stories. The time we spent on the process was fairly minimal, and we’re over the moon to be heading down to the awards night as triple finalists.”

The awards were due to take place in December 2021, but have been rearranged to March due to Covid restrictions.

We have also previously helped Yorkshire Water to bring home awards or reach the finals in the European Contact Centre and Customer Service Awards, Utilities and Telecomms Awards and the BITC Awards.
