What exactly does Awards Writers do?
1What exactly does Awards Writers do?
We write award entries that win and advise on the strategies behind them. Our senior writers have over a combined 252 years of experience crafting compelling narratives for industry awards across the UK, particularly for agencies and B2B businesses. We work as a white-label partner for agencies, and as an on-call resource for marketing directors who need expert copy without the overheads of a full-time hire.
Who writes the entries, are these senior writers?
1Who writes the entries, are these senior writers?
Yes, always. Every entry is written by a senior copywriter with 15+ years of experience. We don't use junior writers or any AI-generated copy. You're paying for strategic thinking and storytelling craft from people who understand what judges are looking for, not a template dressed up to look like copy.
Do you work with agencies, or only direct clients?
1Do you work with agencies, or only direct clients?
Both. With agencies, we operate as a discreet partner: your brand, your client relationship. We're happy to be in the room with your clients to help uncover the story, or to work entirely behind the scenes. Either way, the entry goes out as yours.
If you’re an organisation needing direct support, we can work with your in-house comms or marketing team or take the task totally off your list.
We already have copywriters in-house. Why would we outsource award entries?
1We already have copywriters in-house. Why would we outsource award entries?
Award writing is a specialist discipline. Most in-house or agency copywriters are skilled at brand, campaign, or editorial copy, but award entries require a different skill set: selecting the right category, framing commercial outcomes as a narrative, and understanding what judges in your sector specifically reward. Our writers have decades of experience. Many of the agencies we work with have excellent writers on staff; they bring us in because we add a different layer of strategic and competitive expertise. With a long-term success rate of 82% of entries on the shortlist and 15 years of experience, we’d like to think our experience speaks for itself.
Can you work flexibly? We don't have a constant pipeline of award entries.
1Can you work flexibly? We don't have a constant pipeline of award entries.
That's exactly how most clients work with us. You don't need a retainer or long-term contract to get started. We can work on a project basis, scaling up when your awards calendar is busy and stepping back when it isn't. We can also help you identify the right awards to enter and put together a strategy to give you the chance of best success.
Are you willing to be introduced to our clients directly, or do you only work in the background?
1Are you willing to be introduced to our clients directly, or do you only work in the background?
Whatever works best for the relationship. Some prefer to keep us invisible; others bring us into client discovery sessions where our questions unlock detail that their own team wouldn't think to ask. We're comfortable in either role, or we follow your lead on how we're introduced.
What about training – can you help our team write awards?
1What about training – can you help our team write awards?
We offer training services for people and teams who want to write award entries more clearly, confidently and persuasively. This is particularly useful for in-house communications and marketing teams who want to upskill their existing people.
What's your win rate?
1What's your win rate?
In 2025, 91% of our clients were shortlisted with over 53% taking home a prize.
We don't promise wins; no honest awards writer should. Judging is competitive and partly subjective. What we do promise is entries that are strategically positioned, clearly argued, and as compelling as they can be. We'll also tell you honestly if we think an entry isn't worth pursuing, rather than taking your money to write something unlikely to place.
How do you get to understand our clients' work well enough to write a convincing entry?
1How do you get to understand our clients' work well enough to write a convincing entry?
We start with a structured briefing, either with you, or with you and your client together. We ask strategic questions to draw out outcomes, context, and the detail that makes an entry believable. We're experienced interviewers as well as writers, and often uncover information that clients themselves hadn't thought to include. We’ll push you hard for the data that proves the story we’re telling, going beyond numbers that show scale to metrics that demonstrate true impact. From there we write, share a draft, and refine until it's right.
Can you help us decide which awards to enter?
1Can you help us decide which awards to enter?
Yes. Choosing the right awards and the right categories is half the battle. We can assess which schemes are most respected in your sector and advise on where a strong entry is most likely to be competitive. For agencies, we can also advise on building awards programmes for clients as an additional revenue stream.
How do you charge?
1How do you charge?
Per project. We quote per entry or per awards programme depending on volume and complexity. You can also benefit from our editing service, which makes the most of entries we’ve written by recrafting them for other programmes and categories, stretching your budget for maximum impact. We can provide a clear fee before work starts, so there are no surprises. For agencies wanting to offer award entries to multiple clients, we can discuss a preferred supplier arrangement.
What's the typical turnaround time?
1What's the typical turnaround time?
It depends on complexity and briefing quality. If you have a tight deadline, we'll tell you upfront whether we can meet it. We'd always rather be honest about capacity than rush work that carries your name. We do recommend at least six weeks from beginning to end, to allow time for interviews and feedback. It’s possible to do it faster, but this puts pressure on you to fit in calls and turn around feedback quickly.
How do we get started?
1How do we get started?
A short conversation. We'll ask about what you're working on, which awards are on your radar, and whether there's a good fit. No pitch, no commitment, just a proper chat to see if we're the right people for the job. We turn down a significant number of potential award entries because they aren’t – in our opinion – likely to be successful. That’s how we keep our success rates so high. You’ll benefit from a free 30-minute call to assess your chance before we agree to take on the work. Get in touch and we'll take it from there.
